The International Olympic Committee and Japan's Prime Minister Shinzo Abe have concluded the Tokyo 2020 Olympics must be postponed, and held no later than the summer of 2021, the IOC and Tokyo 2020 organizers said on Tuesday. 国际奥委会和东京奥组委24日表示 ， 国际奥委会和日本首相安倍晋三已决定 ， 东京2020年夏季奥运会延期举行 ， 时间不迟于2021年夏季 。
While a definite new date has not been set, the IOC said that the games "must be rescheduled to a date beyond 2020 but not later than summer 2021, to safeguard the health of athletes, everybody involved in the Olympic Games and the international community." 尽管新的举行日期尚未确定 ， 但国际奥委会表示 ， "奥运会举办日期必须延期至2020年之后 ， 但不得迟于2021年夏季 ， 以保障运动员、参与奥运会的每个人以及国际社会的健康 。 "
