Thailand has taken a step closer to the recognition of same-sex civil reunions with a bill to grant same-sex couples the right to start their own families passed by the country\'s cabinet on Tuesday, the Asian Times reported. The bill, which would afford couples from the same sex property, inheritance, as well as succession rights with the minimum age limit of 20 years old, is expected to make Thailand the first country in Asia to recognize same-sex civil partnerships if approved by the National Legislative Assembly (NLA) after the country\'s general election in February. Welcomed by many in the LGBTI community, the bill has, however, also invited concerns from some activists for failing to address certain crucial rights including that of adopting. "The center of this law basically just allows two same-sex people to have a partnership that allows them to manage property together… But the thing is that it’s still lacking many different rights," Wannapong Yodmuang, a human rights researcher was quoted as saying by the Asian Times.

法工委发言人：有意见建议“同性婚姻合法化”写入民法典
新京报快讯（采访人员 王姝）今天上午 ， 在全国人大常委会法工委第三次采访人员会上 ， 全国人大常委会法工委发言人岳仲明表示 ， 民法典婚姻家庭编草案三次审议稿征求意见过程中 ， 有意见认为 ， 同性婚姻合法化应该写入民法典婚姻家庭编 。
此前 ， 10月召开的全国人大常委会会议曾三审民法典婚姻家庭编草案 。 岳仲明表示 ， 此次审议之后 ， 10月31日-11月29日 ， 民法典婚姻家庭编草案通过中国人大网向社会公开征求意见 ， “共收到198891位社会公众网上提出的237057条意见和5635封群众来信 。 意见主要集中在完善近亲属的范围、修改可撤销婚姻的撤销机关、进一步完善夫妻共同债务、同性婚姻合法化等方面 。 ”
