magnificent，glorious，gorgeous，splendid这几个词都有“壮丽的，辉煌的”之义：
magnificent adj. 壮丽的，华丽的。形容建筑物、景色等美丽而壮观。相当于splendid
比如：the magnificent/splendid view over the valley 山谷的壮丽美景
She was deeply attracted by the magnificent/splendid building. 她被那栋宏伟的建筑深深吸引了。
glorious adj.（正式用语）辉煌的，壮丽的。侧重指非常美丽且给人带来愉悦感的。
比如：glorious views of the coast 沿海的迷人景色
She said she had never seen such a glorious sunset. 她说她从未见过如此瑰丽的晚霞。
gorgeous adj.（非正式）绚丽的，华丽的。多用于形容颜色、衣服等
比如：This bird has feathers of gorgeous colours. 这只鸟有着绚丽的羽毛。
She looks like a princess in that gorgeous skirt. 她穿上那条艳丽的裙子看上去像一位公主。

如何形容“人（不）漂亮”？
1.一般人的好看不能用beauty。beauty的意思是“国色天香”，比如西方人认为章子怡这样的，或者东方人眼中的辛迪克劳馥；一般人的“漂亮”多用attractive；
2.如果觉得某人不好看，也很少用ugly，除非真的是“丑八怪”：ugly-monster；“不好看”可说She’s not very attractive。
3.She is very sexy可能暗含说话人对she有性方面的想法；表示“性感”可以说She’s very hot.
