magnificent,glorious,gorgeous,splendid这几个词都有“壮丽的,辉煌的”之义:
magnificent adj. 壮丽的,华丽的。形容建筑物、景色等美丽而壮观。相当于splendid
比如:the magnificent/splendid view over the valley 山谷的壮丽美景
She was deeply attracted by the magnificent/splendid building. 她被那栋宏伟的建筑深深吸引了。
glorious adj.(正式用语)辉煌的,壮丽的。侧重指非常美丽且给人带来愉悦感的。

如何形容“人(不)漂亮”?
1.一般人的好看不能用beauty。beauty的意思是“国色天香”,比如西方人认为章子怡这样的,或者东方人眼中的辛迪克劳馥;一般人的“漂亮”多用attractive;
2.如果觉得某人不好看,也很少用ugly,除非真的是“丑八怪”:ugly-monster;“不好看”可说She’s not very attractive。
3.She is very sexy可能暗含说话人对she有性方面的想法;表示“性感”可以说She’s very hot.
