What I am trying to say is not that “Black Lives Matter more than other lives” as some of you may argue, but that in the current society, where Black Lives are often placed in inferior situations, they deserve more attention.
Using the previous, when the firefighters desperately want to put down the fire of your neighbor's house, you may feel excluded, but that is not the case. Your house is also valued by them, but at that moment, your neighbor’s house is in a more dangerous circumstance while your house is completely safe. Thus, the former deserves more focalization and water. If positions are reversed, your house will also receive the attention it deserves.
My fellow people around the world, when you think that “Black Lives Matter” is wrong, I agree with you. Moreover, I think this phrase should not have existed in the first place. “All Lives Equally Matter” should be common sense that does not require to be mentioned on any occasion. Unfortunately, the society we live in is biased and inequitable, and people suffer because of this. This is why phrases like “Black Lives Matter” arise. However, just as mentioned above, we should not criticize this phrase or people who support it, but the cause of the creation of this phrase, that is racism.
The battle against racism has been a long and hard one, but we can never achieve any progress until we are no longer separated by misinterpretation such as the one of “Black Lives Matter”.
