AgeClub银发壹族创始人CEO段杰明表示，由于短视频应用对读写能力几乎没有要求，并且它们算法驱动的操作意味着老年人不需要主动搜索信息，因此它们在老年人中的用户群正在迅速扩大。
但，这些女性有限的教育背景和信息渠道却让她们无法识别社交网络上的错误信息，从而成为网络诈骗的目标。

Manyofthosewomencannotidentifymisinformationonsocialmedia,andfamilyinterventionoftentimesendupcreatingfurtherpolarization.InthecaseofHuang,whenherfamilymemberstriedtopersuadeheroutofwiringmoneytothebogusaccount,endlessfightsensued.Byplayingtheroleofsympatheticgrandchildrenorusingromancescamstoappealtowidowedordivorcedelderlywomen,fraudsterscouldusearangeoftacticstogettheelderlyvictimstofallintothetrap.
