过量的摄入地中海饮食中推荐的食物 , 有可能会导致过量的卡路里摄入而增重 , 所以对于有专业型体需求的朋友 , 如果要遵循地中海饮食 , 建议可以按照一些地中海饮食的推荐食谱的量执行[10]
虽然有很多研究的结论证实了地中海饮食的好处 , 但是研究中涉及的地中海饮食是一系列食物的组合 , 所以如果只挑地中海饮食金字塔中的部分自己喜欢的食物来吃(比如还是按以前的饮食习惯 , 只不过吃面的时候不加香油而换成加橄榄油) , 可能反而会起到对健康事而其反的效果[11]
